Mobile Application -Mobile ID+ Verifier

(This was previously known as the mID+ Reader).

The MOBILE ID+ VERIFIER offers a secure and user-friendly method for reading and authenticating information from the MOBILE ID+ App and electronic documents like a National ID Card. It is seamlessly integrated with the DEMO HUB and can access the "demo" trustworthy database (also known as the "vetting database") to verify identity records.

In cases where a verifier is present, the mobile app verifies both Mobile and Physical Credentials. There are various methods for carrying out the verification process.  These methods offer verification options, including QR codes, online checks, NFC or Bluetooth communication, and biometric comparisons, ensuring accurate identification.

  • QR codes: Citizens can display their identity information and QR code on their mobile phones, which verifiers can scan using their mobile app to retrieve and verify data, displaying the user's identity.

  • Online checks: When connected to the internet, the verification application has the capability to search, retrieve, and verify the status of credentials and relevant information from central databases in real-time. This includes obtaining the individual's portrait from biometric systems.

  • NFC or Bluetooth: Both online and offline verification can use wireless technology for communication between the user and the verifier. The process uses NFC or a QR code for engagement and consent, after which NFC or Bluetooth transmits all the data to be verified, including the citizen's portrait.

  • Biometrics: The verifier app can perform a 1:1 comparison between the facial image stored in the Smart Credential, the live photo of the bearer (captured during verification), and the portrait stored in the central database.
